Today de first day with the normal routine. We stood op at 7, and then started off with feeding the rabbits and mice. Cute, but don't get attached, you can imagine why ...
Next, cleaning the cage of the happy two cubs, Duke and Raphael. By the way, it's gonna be quite a challenge rememebering all the names ;) We got in and started cleaning the grass, raking it and collecting the leaves and stuff. Meanwhile DUke and Raphael liked to get at our rakes, so you had to watch your back a bit.
After, cleaning the pooh and refilling the waterbowls at the other enclosures. The cheeta's are quite relaxed when we get in. Apart from Chaka, she's only being handled by Hardus who takes her out by a leach and then her enclosure can be handled (see pics). She's the one who eyed me up yesterday, but right now she seemed to be more relaxed.
I tod you yesterday about the cerval baby who's mother was not eating. The baby passed the night, starting to drink from the bottle (making Estelle get up every two hours). The vet was here today to examine the mother and it turned out that the placenta of the cub had not fully come out, so she was taken to the clinic for surgery. All seems to be well now with her.
Now we've just had lunch and this afternoon we will be having quality time with the cheeta's: sitting inside the enclosures just observing. One cheeta likes it when you read aloud from a book, they all have their own little quirks.

Wauwwwww Marcel, wat maak jij toch mooie dingen mee zeg... Ben stiekem erg jaloers!!
Super gaaf en bijzonder om zo dicht bij de cheeta's te mogen zijn.
Geniet er van en ik kijk erg uit naar je volgende verslagen.
